The pattern design reading list
On my journey to become an established pattern designer (read designer with a noticeable income) I'm gathering every bit of information or knowledge I can get my hands on about patterns and designing them, so that I feel that I have a great toolbox to work with when creating. Here's a list of books about pattern design and print that I l've gathered and I hope you'll have use for it too :-).

Great book by Swedish designer Lotta Kühlhorn who also was one of my first inspirations to become a pattern designer.

By Khristian A Howell
Informative yet fun and very inspirational book about different kinds of patterns and how they are characterized. You learn a lot. Plus it's packed with exercises to get you started.

The complete guide to designing and printing fabric
By Laurie Wisbrun
Focusing on patterns for fabric, this book is filled with info and how-to's, for example a vast step-by-step guide on how to make patterns in Photoshop and Illustrator.
